LDA Seals 43 Commercial Properties, Demolishes Six Illegal Housing Schemes in Lahore Crackdown

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its enforcement drive against unauthorised development, sealing 43 non-compliant commercial properties across the city and demolishing infrastructure in six illegal housing schemes.

The operations were carried out under the supervision of the Chief Metropolitan Planner, with LDA teams targeting illegal housing schemes on Sundar-Raiwind Road and Multan Road. Structures linked to six schemes were demolished, including boundary walls, offices, roads and related infrastructure. The schemes named were Mashallah Villas (described as an illegal subdivision near Mal Pind), Daman City, Maraka Marketing, Maraka Homes, Maraka City and New Lahore City.

Separately, the LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 43 commercial properties within the LDA-controlled area: 10 in Allama Iqbal Town, 15 in Gulberg and 18 on GT Road. The sealed properties included private schools, grocery stores, beauty salons, cafes, restaurants, food outlets, clinics, pharmacies, shops, showrooms and auto workshops. The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner-I Asad-uz-Zaman.

The LDA said the enforcement was being paired with digital monitoring: sealing and de-sealing of properties is now tracked through digital tracking systems. In a revenue generation meeting chaired by LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, auction activities were directed to be expedited according to the auction calendar, and it was emphasised that the Tech Park on Ferozepur Road should be marketed promptly.

What this means for CBD Punjab: in a market where the regulator is physically demolishing unauthorised schemes, planned and authority-led developments stand out as the safer choice. The renewed push on the official auction calendar — including the Tech Park on Ferozepur Road — also keeps transparent, government-run land disposal in the spotlight, which supports investor confidence in regulated projects across Lahore, including CBD Punjab’s districts.
