CBD Punjab has moved three of its flagship Lahore projects a step closer to completion, with its retail destination CBD Walk nearing its operational launch, the first petrol station on Route 47 now open, and work accelerating on the upgradation of CBD Lake.
The update comes from the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as CBD Punjab, which says the progress reflects its plan to turn the district into a modern business and investment destination for Lahore.
CBD Walk Nears Its Opening
CBD Punjab has completed the elevation work on all commercial units at CBD Walk, bringing the retail and fine-dining development closer to opening. The project has 32 commercial units, each covering four marlas, and every unit includes a basement, a ground floor, two additional floors and rooftop space.
The authority has also finished installing travertine stone and glass across the buildings’ exterior elevations, giving the development a contemporary appearance. Designed as a modern retail and fine-dining destination, CBD Walk is expected to create new business opportunities and add to Lahore’s commercial landscape. No opening date has been announced yet; the authority says only that the project is expected to become operational soon.
Route 47’s First Petrol Station Opens
Meanwhile, the first petrol station along CBD Route 47 has become operational near CBD Walk. The facility will serve motorists, commuters and visitors travelling along the corridor, and its opening marks another step in building out the supporting commercial and transport infrastructure around Route 47.
CBD Lake Upgradation Accelerates
CBD Punjab has also accelerated work to upgrade CBD Lake as part of its focus on sustainable infrastructure and water resource management. The lake covers more than 20 kanals and has a depth of 25 feet. According to the authority, it can store approximately five million gallons of rainwater.
The facility will help recharge groundwater and provide an additional water source for construction-related activities. Workers are currently installing marble across the lake’s base and slopes, and the upgraded lake will also feature modern high-tech fountains designed to improve water aeration and enhance its visual appeal.
What This Means for CBD Punjab
Taken together, the three updates show CBD Punjab shifting from announcements to openings. A working CBD Walk would bring retail and dining footfall into the district, the petrol station makes Route 47 more usable day to day, and the lake project adds a sustainability credential to the authority’s pitch to investors and businesses.
For readers, the honest caveat is that the most important detail is still missing: no firm opening date for CBD Walk has been given. The elevation work is done and the finishing is in place, but “soon” is all the authority has said so far. The petrol station, by contrast, is already operational, which makes it the most concrete of the three developments.
